WRALTV 5 just reporting that Bev Perdue and Kay Hagan were indeed elected by straight party voting.

Because there is a difference of ~12,000 votes - statistically, the numbers are the same (they are showing 50-50) - the margin is in favor of Obama at last look - I think they are waiting for an official verification.

the fact that NC is still 'undeclared' is also historical.

Well I really don't care how they were elected. Voting straight party ticket is an option that many people choose, especially when they are tired of the alternative.

Like your bumper sticker - I have had a similar one for the last eight years. Well actually I guess I would have to say that I have had two similar ones in the last eight years. And yes, this year I did vote the straight democratic ticket, as did many, many, many educated white voters according to NPR this morning. Seems the educated, white sub group is leaving the republican party in droves.

You voted against Dole because of ads?

Simple spelling errors have nothing to do with education. Misspellings can be a typographical error or simply not realizing that one has misspelled the name. Education and poor spelling are not mutually exclusive. Just as some of the world's greatest mathematicians have been careless with simple computation, some of the world's greatest communicators can be terrible spellers. I would, frankly, be surprised to see someone judge whether someone is educated - in perhaps many different areas - by a failure to spell a name correctly. Seems a very narrow definition of 'educated', but not inconsistent with many republican stances these days.

Well when one is voting for a person to have power over them, you would think that body of people would be able to spell that person's name.
