This concession speech reminded me of the man I so very much admired in 2000.

You are a truly honorable man.

I admired McCain in 2000. I voted for him in the primary (at least, I did if he was still running by the time the primary was held in Virginia.) But the man running in 2008 bore only a physical resemblance to the man I wanted to have as President in 2000.

>Unlike Obama, McCain doesn't reinvent himself for political expediency. <

Huh? Methinks you've got a short memory.

My bad --- was up too late and I guess I'm a little bleary eyed.

That's really a pity. I really like turkeys, especially when they're stuffed with chestnut stuffing. Oh YUM!

I admit I don't "just love" McCain. I do not forgive easily. I admire him for admitting that the failure is his, and not his supporters, but the last 8 weeks he's shown us that he is not the man he was in 2000.

After the way he pandered to the Christian right, what sticks in my mind is all the flip
-flops he's done over the past eight years, and not his "scars to prove it".

I HOPE that, these next few years being what might be the last of his years as a senator, he will become more moderate and revert to the person he was in 2000. If he does that, I think I will be able to say I admire him. Right now, after the nasty campaign, I cannot say that no matter how many scars he has.

He ran his campaign completely void of honor, I will be surprised if the divides he created in his obsessive character assassination of Barack Obama can be healed. There are a lot of people who think this country has elected a radical black Muslim last night.

He was gracious, kind and unifying.
