Hardly dismissed. I carefully considered the platforms both men represented and chose the candidate who most closely represented my views.
The man that McCain was in 2000 I wanted for President in 2000. The man who ran in 2008 only bears a physical resemblance to that man, however.
>I think that says a lot more about the left than it says about Obama. <
Wow. The conservatives call me a lefist, socialist, a bleeding heart liberal. The liberals call me a heartless conservative. I must be doing something right. I am a rational individual. I am a MODERATE. Neither candidate was centrist, so I chose the one who had policies that I objected to least.
Hmm, last time I checked it wasn't Obama and the Democratic party that was sending around flyers in the Hampton Roads area that told Democrats to vote on November 5. Nor were did they air advertisements that implied that electing the other guy President was going to result in turmoil for this country.
But, that is done. I'm looking to tomorrow, or rather January 21, 2009. May the new President and Congress hit the ground running! They have a LOT of work to do.
(((It is really quite sad that some have so much anger and bitterness and simply cannot see the possibility that there is now some hope for the future of this country!))))
What you are describing here...is NOT just about this election. It sounds like a whole lot more is involved, and something much deeper than a presidential campaign loss could cause. Professional help might be needed if these angry and bitter feelings continue. Disappointment, yes, lingering anger...no. If we could suffer through 8 yrs of Bush43 and not lose it....then

I just don't hear and see the honor and dignity that certain people do in reference to McCain's words and actions. Mr. Kaplan agrees with me.

I have to say, I disagree with that article in its entirety.
