As disappointed as I am, I can't help but be happy that African Americans not only now have someone decent to look up to, but can see that becoming President is possible for them. I truly hope that he is successful, for the sake of our country.
Back atcha! As the resident "American" in the neighborhood, I was stopped by several people this morning who wanted to tell me how happy and hopeful they are because of the result. It is my hope that the good feelings and excitement can translate into the US recouping some lost goodwill and prestige.
ITA. The boy that lives above us has been saying for the past 2 years that he's going to be president someday. He always asks me "Are you really going to vote for me?" Last 4th of July I bought him a book on all the presidents, from Washington to G.W. Bush. Soon there will be a book that he can look at and finally see an African American president. I think this is so important for children like him.

Thank you, Sandy.
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
You're a class act, Sandy. I've really enjoyed debating you as well, and I learned a lot from you.

For some reason this story gave me chills...
1. you were kind enough to go out of your way for a child that is not your own
2. that all can dream, but once you see that someone 'like you' has it makes it more 'real'
3. that the pics will include someone who doesn't look the same, which is what you see in America
Thanks for sharing!
You're a great debater, Sandy.
