My Hopes Regarding President Obama

Last night I was pretty depressed. I cried when John McCain conceded. I prayed for our newly elected President Obama, and for our country.
I started thinking about this man with the paper thin record, and thinking of his words, "I'm a pragmatist", and I started to feel a glimmer of hope. Is it possible that he won't push an ultra liberal socialist agenda? Food for thought, maybe his "present" votes were votes cast so that he wouldn't "tip his hand"? Maybe in good conscious he couldn't vote to the extreme left but knew that if he didn't he could never make it as far as he needed to in the extreme environment where he was traveling up the ladder to the white house?
We really know nothing about this man aside from his thin record. Maybe he won't be the Socialist leader that we expect. Maybe, now that he is in a position of power, he will seek good council and steer our country in the right direction rather than the wrong one.
I'm praying for that, because I don't want to see the country brought to her knees with another great depression and oppressive laws that limit our success and our freedoms.
I think we conservatives should put our money where our mouths are and start praying that this man will see the light, and lead our country well. I much prefer this scenario than the Jimmy Carter scenario on steroids which messes up the country so badly that he will not serve a second term and set the African American cause back for another generation.

Have ya'll had on blindfolds for the past 8 years? Your prayers should have been directed towards the Bush Administration. The Republicans are the reason that this country needs to be FIXED. It might not take one term and the day will not automatically have sunshine tomorrow, but at least THIS president is not sitting on his hands, blaming others, making last minute 'bail out' decisions, and making our country's image fall straight into the toilet.
I cried when McCain succeeded too. I was crying tears of joy that America finally chose a president with moral values and carefully thought out PLANS instead of a president that talks a great game and hides the truth under the table.
Obama '08 and (if needed) Obama '09 as well.
>>> It's a shame to see someone so blinded by hate.
You say hate, I say reality. ; )
>>> Almost everything you posted about liberals, is false.
Except the parts that are true.
>>> It's rude and arrogant, to call a whole group of people stupid, just because you disagree with them.
When a whole group of people does something that is stupid, it's fair to call them stupid...and not the least bit arrogant.
>>> Obama ran a much cleaner campaign than McCain did.
False...but I'm not surprised that you would think so.
>>> McCain was spreading lies and half truths.
You mean like Obama did with his "McCain wants the Iraq war to last 100 years" and "McCain is going to attack social security"? Those kind of lies?
>>> Even some staunch Republicans told him to back off.
Staunch? Like Powell?
>>> Some were so turned off by his tactics, and Palin's ineptness, they voted for Obama.
LOL! That's where you lefties have it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong. McCain was horribly outgunned in an atmosphere that completely favored Democrats. There was no way this should have even been a race...and yet Barry, with ALL that going for him, was such a flawed candidate that he only won, at the very last second, with a 6 point spread.
>>> Every one except the extreme right, see hope and sincereity in Obama.
Only ignorant people who refuse to use simple common sense. His complete inexperience aside, you can look at Obama's record...what there is of it...and see what his principles are. You can look at Obama's relationships and see where his head and his heart are at. Heck, he even told you he was going to "spread the wealth," that he was going to cause your electricity costs to "sky rocket" and that he was going to bankrupt an entire industry. And lots of ignorant fools still voted for him. Either they don't care if their costs go up a LOT...which sounds ridiculous when so many already whine about making ends meet...or they think Obama's a liar...which is really pathetic.
>>> For the first time in almost eight years, our government will be looking out for "main street", instead of Wall Street.
LOL! There's a train leaving the station...and it's got a LOT of your jobs on it.
>>> It's been a long time coming. Obama is not a socialist. No matter how many times some conservatives try to convince us otherwise, we can see clearly he is not.
Um...right...he couldn't possibly be, just because he spouts socialist slogans and proposes policies that are socialist tenets. What could we be thinking?
>>> It's hard to be objective sometimes, but give it a try.
I'd suggest that you do the same. Look at the new now...lots of reporters and commentators are suddenly commenting on how little they know about Obama.
>>> If unwilling, it will make for some miserable times ahead.
So you're suggesting that drinking the kool-aid will make everything seem "ok?" Yeah, thanks, but we already got that from watching the Obamaniacs mindlessly adore the Obamessiah. I think I'll pass...I'm not really interested in being a Stepford-Obama supporter.
>>> That isn't necessary. Obama is like a breath of fresh air.
A breath of fresh nitrous oxide. LOL!
>>> Finally, we have someone who truely wants to energize the middle and lower classes.
And who is that?
The US military is being misused!
>>> The US military is being misused!
Hmmm...we tried to turn them into a very large international soccer team, but they insisted on keeping their guns so...nope...I'm afraid that we'll have to keep using the military as...the military.
The last time we had a Democrat president he sent troops on a U.N. "peace keeping" mission to Mogadishu. I remember our soldiers being murdered and humiliated, their naked bodies being dragged through the streets on national television. How would you have liked to be the mother of one of THOSE soldiers? After the public humiliation, our president did nothing.
Um excuse me, but peace missions are nothing like sending our troops to Iraq to fight a false war and die because of Mr. Bush.
In addition to Russia's response, I also like President I'm in a jihad's (Ahmadinejad) congratulations to Obama. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081106/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iran_obama
>>> The Republicans are the reason that this country needs to be FIXED.
Except that the schemes that cause the economic crisis were started by Dems. And when the Republicans tried to impose reform, the Dems blocked them. And the war? It was the Dems baby back in the Clinton administration and they jumped right on board when Hussein wouldn't play ball. If this country needs to be fixed, then it's the Dems who have been right there all along helping to break it.
>>> It might not take one term and the day will not automatically have sunshine tomorrow, but at least THIS president is not sitting on his hands, blaming others, making last minute 'bail out' decisions, and making our country's image fall straight into the toilet.
That's exactly what he's been doing for the past 2 years...and lying about it to boot! Check Barry's record...he's Mr. Do-nothing.
>>> I cried when McCain succeeded too. I was crying tears of joy that America finally chose a president with moral values and carefully thought out PLANS instead of a president that talks a great game and hides the truth under the table.
Moral values? A guy who lies as easily as he talks? A guy who consorts with terrorists, racists and anti-Americans? Wow...we should elect that slug President! Oh...you just did.
>>> Obama '08 and (if needed) Obama '09 as well.
Not if we can stop him. LOL!
Better conserve your energy...Obama says he's going to make costs "skyrocket." LOL!
My electric bill increased by 22% this summer under President Bush!
Where have you been these past 8 years and not been affected by anything in this current administration? Because if you have not, tell me what state you live in and maybe I will move there!
And stop smearing lies about Obama!
