Obama's girls have a nice school to attend; if public education is so great, how come his girl's don't go to public school?

Can you imagine the circus it would be with Secret Service having to surround the school every day?

Should private schools be outlawed?

I don't really recall Obama making too many statements about the state of public schools in the first place, but seriously--lots of people send their kids to private schools because they don't like the public school systems. And as somebody that has taught in public school systems I don't always blame them. Being somebody that teaches within the realm of fine arts I've had more than a few issues with other teachers and administrators' views of the importance of my class in today's public school system. People that teach what I do (music) find themselves constantly having to defend why they have a job. I'm actually taking a year away from public school teaching right now and have considered going into something else entirely. If Obama wants to put his kids in a nice private school and can afford it then it's his right just as it's the right of any other parent in the US that has the means.

I don't recall Obama calling public schools 'so great.'

You must not have gotten the memo. BO thinks public schools are a fine thing for other people's children.

No the question was asked for someone to rationalze the hypocritical behavior of out President-elect. Glad to see everyone rose to the task given.

Since the school is affiliated with his former employer it makes sense that he would send his children there. Are you saying that if your employer offered a similar opportunity for your children you wouldn't take advantage of it? Seriously? I know I would!

This has been about the third most stupid thing I have seen to accuse President-Elect Obama about.
