I look at how the right laid waste to this country, and it astounds that you can don a serious face whilst making these comments.

Those you supported took a prosperous nation and royally screwed it up.

Ilhaesa...the economy was already hitting the hole in the toilet when Bush took office.

If that was the case, why was Bush constantly telling us our economy was strong?

It was as a mild recession, and I don't blame Bush or Clinton for that - or for 11 September, which by the way, made it worse.

Bush weighs in with the tax cut and the war - both killed us economically.

Fleur we are talking about 2000, and then we were attacked which made the economy worse.

I went on to say that in another post.

I don't think the tax cut hurt us.

"I don't think the tax cut hurt us. But the cost of the war did."

And you don't see a connection here? What do you think the purpose of taxes are? To pay the cost of running a government - one of which is national defense. If we are to be at war then the cost of our national defense rises. To cut taxes while involved in not one but two wars means we have to rely on running a deficit. Not very fiscally responsible. Can you name even one president who cut taxes during one war? Can you find any government anywhere in the entire history of the world who cut taxes during a time of war? I sincerely doubt it - why do you think that is?
