So you read the web site, and you still know that "most of" the smears about Obama "were true"? And none of the anti-Bush criticisms are true?

It depends on what you consider to be a smear. If you'll be more specific, I'll be happy to comment on each one.

<<lies and smears? Heck, Barry even set up his own website to deal with them (even though most were true. LOL!) >>

I was using your terminology when I said "smears." Since you know for sure that "most were true," I'll let you tell us what "most" were. Refute the claims made on Obama's site. I think the burden of proof lies on you, just as you wanted proof of the smears about Palin.

Right wing conservative who really want the truth should turn off right wing hate radio and turn on CSPAN. Better yet read Timothy Egan's "The Worst Hard Times". It tells a story that is not so different from today's situation.

It's the degree to which the truth matters. For Democrats, the truth still carries some weight. For Republicans, the truth is not nearly as important as being right. And winning. At whatever cost.

I believe you are on to something with this train of thought. It may also be why the intellectual conservative deserted the party. The goal of the party became power and winning no matter what principles where at stake. Why else would they lionize such flawed individuals as Palin and the plumber? They were hoping to appeal to peoples the meanest and lowest instinct. They were also trying to play the blame the poor card.

You should probably direct that remark to post 28.
