Remember that day the board was doing strange things like italizing our names and adding numbers after our names? Since that day I no longer get email notification if someone responds to a post. That's really no biggie but still I wondered why? My board settings are still set to get email - did this happen to anyone else?

Yes, it appears that iVillage has been having problems.

This same thing has happened to me. I found it to be a welcome change.

It can be a welcome change, but sometimes you miss a post that you would have replied to. No biggie I guess in the grand scheme of things. But just irritating.

I've had that problem for months. Checked my board settings, checked my e-mail filters. Everything looked like notification should work--but it doesn't. Not sure why.

Also noticed last night in a post I was writing that my hard returns weren't being formatted as such in either the preview or final post.

Interestingly I visited another site tonight that had the italics/numbers after the name issue. I guess it is just traveling through the site.

Same here, plus there's still the 'extra info' in the left margin. Only when I click on "favourite boards" do I notice someone responded to me... that leaves me to go through the threads to find them....it's a pain.


Hope it will all be fixed soon.

Here's the most up to date info:


Some members have found that resetting their notification settings has resolved the issue. To do so, click on 'board settings' on any message board. In your settings, scroll down to 'email notifications' and if checked, uncheck it. Then scroll down and click on submit. Repeat the process only checking the box this time. Click submit. If you continue to experience this issue, please contact our Customer Service department, with the following information, and choosing "other technical issues." We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.
