I guess since we can already blame Obama for Russia's belligerence and the disastrous economy, logic would dictate that he is to credit for me paying $2.13/gallon for gas today.

It is $1.99 in my part of Maryland today. Should be $1.94 on Thursday at the five cents off on Thursday station!

Not only is gas down, but so is the stock market by a greater percent.

We're still at the $2.19 mark here, but it's coming down almost daily.

I just wonder how long it will stay down and when it will start to affect food prices and air fares. It will cost me a bundle to bring my boy home from college for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Too far to drive, and now bus or train terminal close by - we would have to drive a 4 hour round trip to bring him home on a bus or train!

So how do you think Obama was directly related to the falling gas prices? I mean, they started to fall before he was elected, and technically it isn't his administration yet, so what do you feel is the relationship? How does it relate to the stock market dropping drastically after his election?

Fleur, this is for you, also!

The slump in the economy has a lot to do with the falling gas prices. The talk of making more gas efficient cars, this slump is basically world wide. I don't see anybody complaining about AIG asking for more money and continuing to go live high on the hog. Talk about taking advantage of taxpayers money!

Ok, thanks! so you see it as the slump, not directly related to Obama. At least we agree on that!!

Isn't it nice to fill up and not dread looking at the pump? I have been driving back and forth to Newport News, VA to take care of my ex-in-laws and the gas, (as well as the $20.00 toll) has been killing me - this past trip it was so nice to see lowered prices and not have to worry how much the gas would cost!
