Yep that's the way it works. I think part of the problem is that we have gotten more cynical, another part of the problem is there have been so many cases where someone high profile - like OJ - got 'off' when it seemed like a slam dunk. Then there is the sensationalization of so many 'accusations'. I don't know if you are old enough to remember all the child care center accusations in the 80's? Some of the adults were guilty, but many were not and were destroyed anyway. I think it would be best if the media didn't rush in like ambulance chasers - but then some would call that censorship - until it happens to them I guess.
I agree. But you do have to hand it to McCain on his acceptance speech. I thought he really did a wonderful job of trying to encourage his supporters to accept President-elect Obama following his victory. It may not have worked, but he could have taken a lower road than he did. It was a magnificent concession speech.
