Joe the Plumber was on WELFARE

Hi,
I posted this on another board, but it is worth mentioning here to...

Joe the Plumber, the former mascot for the Republican party has disdain for so called "handout's" that would come under President Elect Obama's plan. "Joe" does not want the money he has worked so hard for going to others, and he does not want anyone else's hard earned money coming to him in the form of a tax break.

However, Joe, was a welfare recipient himself. He received welfare on three different occasions (twice with his parents and once as an adult):

The sad thing is, Obama was not talking about welfare during the conversation he had with Joe. Obama was stating giving others a break so they could afford and retain services, such as those from Joe the Plumber, and everyone would share the wealth that way (if you listen to the entire conversation vs. sound bytes). But things were twisted around to appeal to others with hyper disdain of the system; probably conjuring up images of minority unwed mothers of of seven kids, all with different fathers, and filling up grocery carts with junk food to take back to section 8 housing and sit in front of big screen tvs....all on YOUR tax dollars.

According to Joe, it was okay when he/his family was on welfare because he/his family "paid into the system", and didn't abuse it like "others". Yet, Joe owes back taxes. So actually, he does not even pay into the system, so he does not even give back. Other tax payers sure paid for him!

I'm not stating that all opponents of the system were once on welfare like Joe. I am just saying that the hyper-critical and judgmental share this same type of bias, blindness, and hypocrisy, and dare I even say, veiled racism.

I agree. Some feel they are right, even when they are wrong. It's their mantra.

Yes, we do have a clue. We know there are some who cheat the system, my son's EX GF being one of them. So, I'm well aware of the people who cheat the system. But her's another reality, so do the wealthy cheat the system! But I guess that's ok, they worked for their money, in some cases cheating others to get their wealth, but I guess that's ok.

Yet another example of poor vetting by the McCain campaign.

Hello? Hello? What has "cheating the system" have to do with anything being discussed here?
