I think it's time for Joe Scarborough to take the same medicine

I wonder how many opponents of "the fairness doctrine" are in favor of massive fines for "obscenity" on the airwaves ?

(BTW, I don't want to re-instate the fairness doctrine, I also don't want massive fines for potty mouths over the air waves)

I just can't muster up any concern about this. FWIW, I also see a difference between someone who accidentally drops an F bomb once in a blue moon and someone who purposefully uses bold language or graphic images for shock value.

I mean, don't get me wrong -- I see the hypocrisy, I just don't...seem to care.

It was an accident...completely unintentional...no big deal. Moving on.

Fair enough. Here's a question for you, though. What do you think would happen if Keith Olberman had uttered the F-word accidentally?

I'm sorry but I love, love, love Joe, so I'll let this slide.

So the hypocrisy is okay if it's a journalist you could sit and have a beer with?

If...if...it was a true accident I am sure that he must be embarrassed as h*ll. Imagine, going on about bad language and then doing it yourself. He is human after all and we all make mistakes. If he gets fined it will certainly teach him a lesson even though he's got egg all over his face now.

I've not watched very often as he's been moved to the a.m. and my computer's sound doesn't work w/youtube. Why was he using that language when he was discussing Rahm Emanuel?

edited for spelling

I dunno. Probably the same thing that is happening to Scarborough -- some crying foul, some yawns, and the whole thing blows over in a week.

There is a funny video of then-Governor Bush joking around and flipping the bird on camera. Dick Cheney told Senator Leahy to "F**k yourself" in the Senate chamber during a photoshoot. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3699-2004Jun24.html

Is it admirable behavior? No way. Is it a sign of a deeply flawed moral character? I hope not, or I'm in big trouble. I just can't get that juiced up over someone of any political persuasion letting out an accidental curse.

But I'm curious now, what was Joe cursing about?
