I doubt the military would be impacted in such a way.
This state is talking about cutting state employees pay, and that makes me crazy... lets see, we have a shortfall, but the balancing effort should be carried by 12,000 employees and not the entire 1.2 million who live in the state. Yeah, that seems fair.
sub·top·ic (sbtpk) n. One of the divisions into which a main topic may be divided.
The main topic is the future occupant of the White House, President-elect Obama, and the administrative positions he is currently filling.
A sub-topic to that main topic would be a comparison of the current occupant of the White House and the administrative positions he filled.
A sub thread would throw the discussion into a whole new direction - for example a discussion of McCain or Palin who are not currently or imminently occupying the White House and therefore will not be filling any such administrative positions in the near future.
Well, my magic 8 ball says 'future looking good'. About as accurate at predicting future events as just guessing based on your candidate not winning. Coincidentally when I asked it that question 4 years ago it said 'future looking cloudy' - pretty accurate!

Ergo it was a sub topic and not a sub thread.
