OMG, I know, I heard about this last week! Can you believe it? The editor didn't feel it was that big of a deal. Sure, ok.

>>About 25 residents, who said they had hoped to save the local paper with Obama's victory noted front page, picketed the newspaper's office Thursday..

The Terrell Tribune's publisher, Bill Jordan:
"We run a newspaper, not a memory book service," he said. "We covered the local commissioner's race. We thought that was more important."<<

*Not* the choice I would've made. Talk about sour grapes.

Terrell is a teeny tiny town and is a almost a suburb of Dallas, The Dallas Morning News is at every newsstand in the town, along with their 4 page local paper which has now made the news nationally. That's probably the biggest thing that's ever happened there.

Well, considering that every other newspaper around the world had it splashed all over the front cover I don't think anyone would have missed the news. It DOES say something about where that particular newspaper stands though (if they made no mention of it whatsoever). Guess they missed an opportunity to state their opinion on the matter (though the silence speaks volumes). Rather petty if you ask me. It might be interesting to read some of their op ed pieces and how they cover political news going forward once Obama does become president though. They can't ignore the truth forever.

Not every other newspaper in the U.S. There are some papers who only report local news and let the paper from the nearest "big city" report the national news. Since I never lived in Terrell, I don't know if that is the case there, but there are many small local papers that usually only come out once a week and report only local news.

Chilly was saying that they are a 4pg newspaper and from her op it might only be a weekly for the local news. I doubt they have an op-ed section.

LOL! I think alot of people can ignore the truth for as long as it suits their need.

I live near a town about the same size - we have a paper dedicated to local news and goings on.

I'm sitting here trying to recall if our paper reported it (comes out once a week) ... since I knew he won, I was looking at the local stuff.
