An apology
28

to anyone who was offended by my use of the term fops in relation to its gay connotation. Another poster informed me that the term is a derogatory term for gay men. Needless to say, I did not know and apologies again. I am ceasing all use of the term immediately. Dumb mistake.

The new term is FP, or Fox-Republican politician.

Needless to say, I did not know

Oh Puhlease OL! While I'm sure your present apology will be accepted by all, the various (possibly insulting) connotations when using "fop" as a word, (instead of e.g. as an

And yet no one who uses the acronym "dopes" has ever expressed any regrets over using it. Not that I was expecting them to...

"See...we learn new stuff every day. Glad you corrected that, though I didn't pick up on the other meaning myself."

And thanks everyone (except one) for being so forgiving.

Except, I was forgiving OL.

When (after protests from left, right and centre about your use of "fops") a couple of years ago, I thought we had settled that issue, so I'm just surprised when you now say "Needless to say, didn't know", but maybe you simply forgot....

So no problem SD ;-)
