It looks like Illinois governor actually tried to sell the Senate seat vacated by Obama:

WASHINGTON - Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents Tuesday morning on federal corruption charges, officials said.

His chief of staff John Harris was also charged, the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed in a statement.

Blagojevich, 51, and Harris, 46, both of Chicago, were each charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery

A 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps during the last month conspiring to sell or trade for personal gain the state's U.S. Senate seat, which is being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

The arrests follow a long and highly publicized corruption investigation.

Blagojevich and Harris are due to appear in federal court later on Tuesday to face the charges.>>>

everything has a way of going around full circle. no party is immune to the scandals that run amok. it will be a nice change to see the other side facing the scandals, but what are we to expect when they have control of everything? something bad is bound to surface now and again. ironic, isn't it? When are we all going to realize that the only person we can control in life is ourselves, and our reactions to others negative things are the only thing under our control? I'm responsible for one person in my life time, that is myself. I have children, i am responsible for their care and well being but what they do as an adult is on them, not a reflection of me, because we are poisoned by the tv and outside influences, that even those raised in the best of houses can turn sour. maybe once ppl start realizing that they can only control themselves and not feed into other peoples negativeness, then can we come together as a nation.

Yes I agree and this needs to be fully investigated.

I think it is an issue of the time it takes to impeach (scheduling, building the case, actually trying him).

He at least has the right to due process, doesn't he?

They want him out of office before he can appoint the replacement for Obama.
