It looks like Illinois governor actually tried to sell the Senate seat vacated by Obama:

WASHINGTON - Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents Tuesday morning on federal corruption charges, officials said.

His chief of staff John Harris was also charged, the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed in a statement.

Blagojevich, 51, and Harris, 46, both of Chicago, were each charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery

A 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was intercepted on court-authorized wiretaps during the last month conspiring to sell or trade for personal gain the state's U.S. Senate seat, which is being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

The arrests follow a long and highly publicized corruption investigation.

Blagojevich and Harris are due to appear in federal court later on Tuesday to face the charges.>>>

The Senate Democrats have sent a letter warning him that any appointment he makes may be rejected by the Democratic Senate caucus, so the person would not likely be seated.

That is why the Dems in Illinois are looking for a quick way to remove him from office, since he so far has been clear he isn't going to resign. Although there was a rumor yesterday am that he was considering it. We'll see.
The Dem's in Illinois want him out because they don't want him to appoint the seat, and he still can do it. They were very worried he was going to appoint it Wednesday when he returned to work. This isn't a man with much of a conscious, and he is very full of himself, and as the multitude of psychiatric experts have chimed in, could most likely be diagnosed with a Narcissistic Disorder. He even considered appointing himself to the seat b/c his plans was that with Obama's election to the Pres., He wanted a Washington appointment. I think he saw he wasn't on the short list, anywhere. (my opinion there)
The seat, appointed by Rod, is tainted. A special election will cost our already hurting state budget some 50 million. An impeachment will take long. They want him out now, and as you pointed out, so do the Senate Dems.
Rod's political career is over, no one is going to stand by him now. It would be political suicide to stay hushed on this one....all the other accusations aside; trying to sell a vacant senate seat. Now we know what offenses politicians really abhor.

I agree! It's not worth my time to read garbage and opinions of those who despise Obama. It all belongs in the garbage or shredder.
