CREW RELEASES 2008 MOST EMBARRASSING RE-ELECTED MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
"Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN)
Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL)
Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA)
Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA)
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)
Rep. Gary Miller (R-CA)
Rep. John Murtha (D-PA)
Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY)
Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA)
Rep. Don Young (R-AK)"
And even though the Democrats have a strong majority in the House and Senate, Republicans still managed to fill a far greater majority - 70%! - of the scumbag politicians list, including the only Senator, the Senate Minority leader no less.
And yes Republicans, I want these three Democrats gone gone gone too. I am an equal opportunity out with the scum politicians citizen.

"And yes Republicans, I want these three Democrats gone gone gone too. I am an equal opportunity out with the scum politicians citizen."
yet you still used a partisan title. I do wonder why if you feel that all of them are scumbags.
You bet I used a partisan title. That's because the Republicans are not only up to their eyeballs in corruption - worse still they refuse to clean it up.
Look at the Republican slimes they let sit there in office: convicted Republican Senator Stevens who even runs for reelection, prostitute addict Republican Senator Vitter (remember what the Dems properly did to ladies lover Spitz - gone in a heartbeat?), bathroom sex fiend "I'm more moral" Republican Senator Craig, and of course Republican Senator McConnell who made the corruption list - he's the minority leader in the Senate no less. That is just the Senators alone. Don't get me started on the White House or this incompetent, corrupt Administration . . .
"Now you've totally lost any shred of respectability (if you had any to start with) with this totally partisan post."
Thank you for responding. You are saying that it was wrong to call the Republicans a disgrace even though they are. What with the torture, illegal wiretaps, unnecessary trumped up politicized disastrous war in Iraq, outing a CIA agent and thereby destroying our vital intelligence network on Iran, deregulation to the brink of the Great Depression again, incompetence in Katrina and every other facet of government, the Republicans absolutely without a doubt are a disgrace. It would be nuts to call them anything else. Call it partisan. Call it a banana. Call it whatever you want. A rose is still a rose, and unfortunately a disgrace is still a disgrace.
Now, let's look at your attempt to somehow deflect blame which properly should be accorded to Republicans for their disgraceful performance. Your arguments are illogical and convoluted. Basically, you are mushing together a personal attack on me with the "everybody including the Democrats does it" defense. Tired. With a monicker like yours, you of all posters should know that blaming me, the Democrats, or others does not excuse the Republicans oldfaithful. What the heck, I'll humor you anyway and go down the comparison path.
Big Giant Point Number 1:
Who rode into Washington on their "we're more moral" high horse?? Hint: it's the same party with their famous pompous "contract with America" in 1994, in which they declared if we don't live up to our promises then throw us out. Yes oldfaithfulmom, it was the Republicans who told us they were all about family. It was the Republicans like prostitute addict Senator David Vitter and Senator Larry "I'm not interested in illegal gay sex in the bathroom" Craig who scolded President Clinton for being a "naughty naughty boy." In fact, Vitter's wife even piled on and declared if she were Hillary she would have grabbed a knife and cut Bill's thingie off like Lorena Bobbit - and when it came time for Vitter's wife to talk to the press about her husband of course she broke down and cried about how mean and unfair they were. You have a sitting Senator, oldfaithful, in Stevens who is a convict and another in Craig who admitted his guilt to the authorities and another in Vitter who admitted his prostitute addictions. This is not to mention the dossier cited above on no less than your top Republican Senator McConnell.
To sum up big giant point number 1 oldfaithful - the Republicans built themselves a huge glass house of morality.
Big Giant Point Number 2
I am glad you are going after the Democrats. Keep doing it. Human nature is such that there always will be scum lurking in every party. We chucked Spitzer in a heartbeat. We are chucking this fool in Illinois. If you have dirt on others, I want them out. I welcome it. Just as you should welcome outing scum in the Republican Party. Let's out them and oust them together! Let's go down your list in fact:
1. Jefferson (still in office until recently) - sorry but he's gone. Did it take too long? Yes. But he's gone. Your boys are still sitting there in the Senate. And the White House. And there were a lot more in there who sat there for a lot longer than they should have - Rumsfeld, Rove, Cheney, Addington, Gonzalez and Libby come to mind - and some of them like Cheney and Addington are still in there somehow. You've got a lot more Jefferson's than we do.
2. Alcee Hastings - what this guy did before getting elected in taking a bribe also makes me want to puke. But as far as I can tell unlike Jefferson, Hastings did his wrongs well before he was elected, not while he was elected. If I had the vote he should not be there. I don't like him there. But there is no evidence at all that he ever did anything illegal or to my knowledge ethically questionable as a Representative. Bottom line: the guy does not make me proud at all. I think he never should have been elected and I think he's unfit to serve. I want him gone gone gone.
3. Franks - sorry but no proof that Franks did anything wrong. He was tried before the House Ethics Committee:
"Steve Gobie reprimand
In 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank when it was revealed that Steve Gobie, a male escort whom Frank had befriended after hiring him through a personal advertisement, claimed to have conducted an escort service from Frank's apartment when he was not at home. Frank fired Gobie earlier in 1990 and reported the incident to the House Ethics Committee after learning of Gobie's activities. After an investigation, the Ethics Committee found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity and dismissed all of Gobie's more scandalous claims. The committee recommended that Frank receive a formal reprimand for his relationship with a prostitute. Attempts to expel or censure Frank, led by Republican member Larry Craig (who himself was later embroiled in his own gay sexual scandal), failed. Rather, the House voted 408-18 to reprimand Frank who later won re-election in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, and has won by larger margins ever since."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_Frank
Did Franks hang around with a sex fiend? Uh huh. Did he learn his lesson? I sure hope so. Was it investigated? Yes. Was he guilty? No. And look who was leading the charge - Senator Larry "I'm not gay and would never violate a decency law in a public airport bathroom" Craig. Reminds me of how Gingrich and DeLayed impeached Clinton from on high. Gingrich was having an affair on his wife in the hospital and DeLay was having an affair on his wife. You see, folks like Franks don't prance around claiming to be morally superior. I don't like what Franks did oldfaithful, but at least he's not a big fat hypocrite. That's the difference oldfaithful.
4. "Dodd (Countrywide Mortgage amongst other things, still in office)" - looks like Countrywide waived some points to the tune of under $10,000 and gave Dodd a good interest rate. Kind of small potatoes and no evidence. If someone wants to investigate him go ahead!
5. Murtha - he's on CREW's 20 most scummy list and should be gone gone gone. http://www.crewsmostcorrupt.org/summaries/murtha.php He went bongos with the earmarks and conflicts of interest. I fully agree he's not fit to be in Congress for that reason. Surprised? You shouldn't be. I am consistent and fair. And I know I'm not always right by the way, and when someone shows me I'm wrong I admit it. Sorry if I'm a bit gruff but I'm just a bit fed up with all the Republican insanity over the past 8 years. I never would have believed how much an abnormally greedy corrupt bunch of politicians in Washington could hurt me and my family, along with the millions of other Americans.
Point Number 3
And I mention this only because you seem to somehow argue that Democratic faults forgive Republican corruption. Your premise, that the Democrats are just as corrupt as the Republicans, is way way off. Look at the convicted Republican Reps over the past years - the Duke, Ney the horse, and indicted DeLay, and Foley who was caught dead to rights in pederasty against a page no less, and Hastert, the very majority leader, and Boehner, who tried to cover up Foley's crimes to save his seat for the Republicans. And most of all look at Abramoff. This former movie producer made a corruption blockbuster like one has never been seen in Washington. And here's some more: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/grandolddocket.php
How many felony convictions were there during Clinton's 8 years? None. One misdemeanor. So far we have a felony convict in the White House Chief Procurement Officer tied into Abramoff, and a felony convict in Scooter Libby in the middle of outing a CIA agent and thereby destroying our intelligence network against one of our top rivals in Iran. And we haven't even gotten started. You see Rove and Gonzales cowed the Justice Department by firing all the honest ones. They even fired the prosecutor after whom the movie, A Few Good Men, was made. They even tried to fire Fitzgerald who prosecuted Libby. We have so much more corruption and so little time: the torture!, the illegal warantless wiretapping, the lying us into the disastrous totally unnecessary Iraq war, the outing Valerie Plame, the corruption up and down in Bush's crony hack appointments, the ties to industry and so on and so on.
And if you want to talk about sex, as you seem to want to do in citing Franks, look at the gay prostitute reporter who someone in the White House gave a security pass so he could come in hundreds of times according to Secret Service records. Hmmmmmmmmm.
And what about now, after the Republicans have lost power over two years ago in 2006? They still outnumber the Dems by far in scumbag politicians. Look at the numbers in the top 20 at www.beyonddelay.org .
And lastly, regarding your comment about my supposed lack of respectability, may I remind you that even on this board it is the Republicans who are spewing that President-elect Obama is like Hitler, he is not a member of the religion he says he is, he is a terrorist and all other manner of wholly unsupported, ridiculous and nasty accusations and insinuations. These comments are down and dirty just like the Republican politicians they are defending.
I still respect you!
Oh please! There are corrupt politicians on both sides, there are those willing to do something about on both sides, and there are those not willing to change anything ON BOTH SIDES.
Corruption in politics is hardly a partisan issue. I can see from your posts that you are extremely partisan, but I certainly wouldn't bury my head in the sand on this issue.
If I had the desire, I could tit-for-tat your examples. But it would be a waste of time. What's more important to you; stopping or decreasing the corruption in politics or 'proving' that one party is more corrupt than the other?
****
Thanks and I respect you too!
I respect you too oldfaithfulmom so don't feel left out!
