"Senators Vitter"

Why in the world is this guy still there? As he preached to us about family values and supported impeaching Clinton for lack of it, he was seeing a prostitute the whole time. Spitzer was gone in a heartbeat for this kind of lawbreaking and hypocrisy. Vitter is an intelligent person - a Rhodes scholar. What in the world is he thinking? And what in the world happened to the Republican Party to tolerate this kind of poop within its ranks? Vitter is not fit to be a politician in the Republican Party. He should go live a nice life doing something other than moving his mouth supposedly speaking on behalf of the American people. Instead he is blocking a move to stop the autos and millions of American workers from being swept away in this financial crisis. We are all in this together. No man is an island entire unto himself. Except the me me me Republicans, that is.

Things seem to be going from Bad to worse. I don't know why Vitter is still allowed to be a Senator either. He should be gone. Rhodes Scholar or not. He is a disgrace. Personally all of the disgracefull Senators and congresscritters should be gone.

Not really - it's always easier to destroy something than to build something new, improve something, restore something...

So it's not a question of being powerful at all.

Oh, pulease, with what Goldman-Saks and AIG did, that is a disgrace, they wanted Governmant handouts, and spent the taxpayers money to give themselves bonuses. I'm sick of the Libs want handout crapola.

I don't think it's fair to attack certain business practices, like the payment of bonuses, with a layman's eye. The guy who busted his gut and earned bonuses is as entitled to them as the line worker in the auto plant is getting his salary and benefits.

It has more to do with the cause of the problems at the respective institutions and their relative impact on the economy.

Funny - because there is nothing wrong with a financially healthy company giving a bonus out of it's profits - but when a company that is failing gives a bonus out of a government bailout it amounts to using corporate welfare to give a bonus.

So your previous comment "Libs love a handout and don't feel anyone should take personal responsibility." Doesn't seem to mesh with your current comment "I don't think it's fair to attack certain business practices, like the payment of bonuses, with a layman's eye." Because quite frankly the personal responsibility of these executives would be to recognize that they didn't actually earn the bonuses since they were unable to run their corporation in a profitable manner. Now who isn't in favor of personal responsibility? I'll give you a hint - it is not this liberal.
