Yes but my point is that the election is over so why keep hounding her here?

I come from a large family, and most everyone of my friends is married or has been married, it's a rare find when the in-laws become fast friends and share more than superficial conversation. I'm sure that there are some out there somewhere that develop friendships, but I've yet to come across any.

Well my hubby and my mom are friends and get a long very well.

It does happen more often than one might expect, especially if you live in a town the size of Wasilla.

LOL I remember when I first got married, years ago, that was a point of contention between my in-laws and me. My in-laws apparently had in mind a 'close' relationship with my parents, and my parents since both of our fathers were engineers, as was my ex-husband, and had some past similarities in employment history. My parents did not reciprocate however and my in-laws seemed to feel it was my responsibility to 'throw them together' so to speak. It was literally years before my in-laws accepted that my parents were not interested in socializing with them. Luckily my in-laws eventually moved out of state so the matter became a moot point.

You have changed the relationship dynamics.

There is a difference between Sarah eventually having a close relationship with son in law, or Bristol eventually having a close relationship with her mother in law and Sarah Palin having intimate knowledge of all Mrs Johnston's actions, including breaking drug laws. You can see that can't you?

"It does happen more often than one might expect, especially if you live in a town the size of Wasilla. I admit to making "a reach" here, but being from a small town, although much larger than Wasilla, that my mil and my father had known one another for years having been born in the area and of a similar age. My fil was known by all since he had a prominent place re his employment in the community. In other words, people knew who other people were - and not surprising for a small-type community, "knew" what was going on for the most part in other people's lives. :)"

Coming from a small town, I agree, people do tend to know more about you than in larger towns. However, illegal activities are not something that people tend to let slip too easily, and it's not until an arrest that 'everyone knows'.
I grew up in a town of less than 4000. I babysat for a family 2 doors down from me while in middle school. After I graduated college the father was arrested. It was then we all found out that he had been in the mob for over 20 years. Go figure, he kept that a pretty good secret.

What I wrote made perfect sense.

Again, I am not running for any office and what I am saying is valid.

then certainly with your minor children you must be aware of the actions, behaviors, and moral character of their friends parents where they play. Aren't you?

I don't know how many times they have sex a week, but I do know a lot about them. We are friends with, and hang out with, all of my daughter's friends' parents.

Someone asked a question and I answered it. It is only my opinion and will not effect the rise and fall of the sun.
