Disappointed with the Speech

I was actually a little bit excited about the inauguration ceremony today and anxious to hear our new president's speech. It could have been so good. It could have been inspiring. Instead I thought it was a downer. It seemed like President Obama is still in "campaign mode". He needs a new speech writer. President Clinton would have understood that the nation, so excited by this historic day, would want to hear an inspirational speech on a day like this. I think he blew a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am a little sad instead of excited after hearing it.

I had to laugh when Obama called himself a "mutt" But I will say this, My DH's cousin married an African American. She had health problems so they adopted two little girls, Holly and Jenelle. Both were mixed race, but

Is the person you were addressing a minority? It seemed like it to me from reading the posts.

I guess I don't understand what your dad wants to hear from Obama as I thought that his speech was a continuation of everything he has been saying during his campaign.

Yeah...sher...I guess that explains the 64% of Republicans who want her to run in 2012 and the 91% who have a favorable view of her. I guess by "plenty" you meant that other 9%. LOL!

I still beg to differ. You actually have 3 wars (well, 2 and a half) because technically, you can combine Afghanistan into the War on Terror....but Iraq?....Not so much (at least for the reasons why it began or even as an explanation for the major motivating factors behind the insurgency). But to look at Iraq and Afghanistan as only ONE war is dangerous and misleading to say the least.

If "victory" in the so called "War on Terror" is the goal, mentally lumping two separate wars into two entirely different countries into one homogenous "war" is not the way to accomplish this goal.

With that last sentence it is very apparent that those on the left depend on rag mags for their news sources.

"That's all well and good, I appreciate you providing the facts that prove me wrong, but I think I'll disregard them." Only in a liberal world.

No spin here...just reality.

Yes Obama needs sympathy.
