Obama: Quit Listening to Rush Limbaugh if You Want to Get Things Done
Obama warned Republicans to quit listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats, during a White House discussion on his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.
"There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats," the official said. "We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."
That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.
While discussing the stimulus package with top lawmakers in the White House's Roosevelt Room, President Obama shot down a critic with a simple message.
"I won," he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. "I will trump you on that."
The response was to the objection by Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to the president's proposal to increase benefits for low-income workers who don't owe federal income taxes.

I think that when it comes to the stimulus package, they most certainly be looking at more than rhetoric passed out from Rush. These men and women are working on policy that is supposed to help the economy. I do not believe that they are sitting there without an educated thought in their brains waiting for Rush to tell them how to proceed.
The Dems of course like this picture that Obama has painted.

How would you like me to pull that quote out of my brain and source it to you? It was in interview on Hugh Hewitt. There is no transcript that I have seen. It was asking questions about the meeting with John Boehner (I think I have that spelling correct this time).
You don't have to believe me, but I don't lie nor do I intentionally misrepresent. You have the choice of accepting my interpretation of the interview or not. It's up to you.
Boehner was trying not to discuss this in any type of detail or point fingers at Obama for going somewhere he shouldn't have. Although, it was clear it bothered him that Obama would suggest that these congressmen and women couldn't think for themselves and had to go to Rush for instruction.

I don't think I ever used the word lecture. If I did, or if that was the impression I left I apologize. I don't think or believe that Obama was lecturing anyone. What it appears he was doing was trying to marginalize Rush and his political ideology, which of course is going to look a lot like conservatives on capitol hill. That's pretty obvious.

My reasoning for questioning your source was because I was unsure what quote you were referring to, not because I believed you were lying.
I have to apologize again, I wasn't trying to say that you were calling me a liar. I was just letting you know, I don't make stuff up and post it. You really don't know me so I just wanted to share that.

I pretty much tuned out on this a long time ago, but if I remember correctly that was part of the problem, if Bush would have just fired all Dem US attorney's from the start there wouldn't be an issue, but he didn't and then he fired some and the claim was that he did it because they wouldn't support him. Something to that effect anyway. I'm sure someone here can correct me to the specifics
