Jim Adkisson took his conservative beliefs to the max by entering a church in Tennessee and opening fire.

Rioting and acts of violence are inexcusable when trying to promote a political POV, but I think that what the poster was hoping you would provide were example of mainstream liberal icons calling upon people to be violent.

>>> I haven't seen too many calls to violence against the right (like those I quoted previously) in left wing political discourse on the airwaves.

Well, admittedly that would happen infrequently, mostly because no one is actually watching left wing political discourse on the airwaves. However, I haven't seen any "calls to violence" from the right either. Hopefully you have something more substantial to offer than Coulter's barbs. LOL!

>>> Another thing I haven't seen too often is the habit of lumping Conservatives into one big group and spending entire shows bashing them the way I see/hear it being done the other side.

It's always humorous to hear the left go on and on and on about what conservatives (Rush, Hannity, blah, blah, blah) say when they admit that they don't watch the programs.

>>> Granted, I'm in Canada and don't get MSNBC or American talk radio up here as a rule, so I could be mistaken. However, these types of shows haven't garnered too much success or airplay on the left, if one were to believe the statistics.

Well, if you actually watched MSNBC you'd see a lot of "lumping" and "dumping" going on...and a fair amount on CNN as well.

>>> Certainly CNN does not do that.

Sure do...although not quite as blatantly as MSNBC...but I've yet to see a "fair" report on Bush or conservatives or Republicans...and often see "panels" that are completely one sided with an obvious agenda to bash the Republicans.

>>> Sure, they can be critical of government but that's an important role of journalism.

With out nation facing the most expensive pork-filled boondoggle in history, I haven't heard much "criticism" from CNN or MSNBC...but then maybe their voices were a bit muffled by having their noses so far up Barry's @s$.

>>> I'm used to hearing criticism of the government in power from our Canadian media but we don't tend to 1. Target large blocks of our citizenry for their views and 2. paint people who disagree with the current government as "traitors" and "anti-Canadian". In fact....I don't think "anti Canadian is even an expression.

Sure it is...

During Liddy's tenure as a radio talk-show host, many controversial statements have been attributed to him, including causing the release of John Dean's home phone number in 1993 on the radio when Dean was threatening to sue Liddy for defamation and Liddy called Dean's home on the air to only reach his answering machine that announced the phone number.

That's it? LOL! You had to go all the way back to 1994? And that's not even a "call to violence," that was a call to "self-defense" after the ATF assault on the Branch Davidians...and Liddy apologized shortly after and qualified his remarks. Surely you can find something else...after all, according to liberals, there are "calls to violence" from the right all the time.

<>

>>> Which examples?

Um...the links containing the examples that were previously provided.

<>

>>> Ok then....Even though the examples you provided were not what was asked for, I am going on record and stating that any heinous acts of violence against innocent people are reprehensible and criminal acts that I do not condone in any way.

Ok...let me just jot that down.

>>> If a public figure in the media or through public political discourse were to recommend doing such things (no matter which side of the spectrum they came from) they would immediately lose any hope of support from me.

Like I said before...are you suggesting that liberals simply spontaneously gather to commit their acts of violence?

I'm still waiting on your "oh, so frequent calls to violence from the right."

I think that's the point. He saw and heard hateful rantings from his right wing media heroes. This much is evident from the books they found in his home as well as the fact that many of the things in his manifesto are identical to the views expressed by some of the most popular right wing pundits on public airwaves.

I'm wondering if Ann Coulter will say something smarney about the 9/11 widow who lost her life in that terrible plane crash
