Jim Adkisson took his conservative beliefs to the max by entering a church in Tennessee and opening fire.

~did you really think i was serious?~
Personally, I was too astonished to wonder.
Backpedaling. Look at this section from your quote--in context:
<RUSH: To who? To who would it make all Americans look bad?
CALLER: To the world.
RUSH: Oh, screw it! Screw the world! You know, I can't--->>
and here's the backpedaling bit
<<...Now, I am not inspiring or inciting riots. I'm dreaming. (singing to the tune of White Christmas) "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver." Remember 1968? And which party did that? It was the radicals in that party, the anti-war radicals, the same bunch of clowns that are running around defining the Democrat Party today.>>
Crush is not interested in the good of the nation, he's interested in the good of Crush, first and foremost. He's interested in his own agenda, and utter vanquishing of his opponent(s). Moderate conservatives like David Brooks are well aware that Crush's denigrating, and the subsequent sidelining of RINO's, was a major contributing factor to the "whuppin'" the GOP got in both 2006 and 2008. By his own admission, Crush is NOT interested in consensus, again IN CONTEXT from your quote:
<RUSH: That's what we're trying to do. You don't bring them together. We don't bring people together. That's not how this country works. We defeat our political adversaries so that they're in the minority.>>
Crush would be right at home, if not for his obvious cowardice and reluctance to endanger his oversized hide, in the Middle East. Politics for him is a battle, wiener take all, with precious little room for a basic democratic premise of "majority rule, minority right". He's an egotistical megalomaniac. If I was a Democratic partisan, I'd tell Barack Obama to "shush up and give Crush enough rhetorical rope with which to hang himself"--it worked quite well for the Democrats in both 2006 AND 2008.
The "Koolaid" metaphor is sooooo old, soooooo overused, and sooooo lacking in imagination. I don't drink chemically enhanced beverages full of imitation flavoring, imitation coloring, and God knows what other nasty additives, both literally and figuratively. I don't "do" Maddow or Olbermann either.
On the other hand, Crush's followers are certainly gulping down vast quantities of garbage dumped by the Big Bloviator himself. He and his fellow ranters are scum of the earth and bear responsibility for the foul fruit of their poisonous word seeds.
>>> Crush is not interested in the good of the nation, he's interested in the good of Crush, first and foremost.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but it's not an opinion supported by anything factual.
>>> He's interested in his own agenda, and utter vanquishing of his opponent(s).
Of course. The principles Rush (and many conservatives) believe in are diametrically opposed to those espoused by the left. Why would he want those destructive liberal ideas to be anything but "vanquished?" Based on what I've seen here, and in the media, I think it's a safe bet to say that most liberals hold similar views concerning conservative principles.
>>> Moderate conservatives like David Brooks are well aware that Crush's denigrating, and the subsequent sidelining of RINO's, was a major contributing factor to the "whuppin'" the GOP got in both 2006 and 2008.
I don't know what David Brooks is aware of, but it's fascinating that you, and presumably David Brooks, believes that Rush has that kind of political power. I guess it was foolish of Obama to have tried to challenge him.
>>> By his own admission, Crush is NOT interested in consensus, again IN CONTEXT from your quote:

Rush is right...and that sentiment has been demonstrated clearly by the Democrats in Congress and by Barry "I won" Obama. The Dems didn't even try to form a consensus for the biggest spending debacle in history...they tossed every Republican idea out the door and told the Republicans..."we won, we get to write the bill"...and then attacked the Republicans for being obstructionists when they didn't submit.

Well, as the example I provided previously proves, if Rush belongs in the middle east, then so does every idiot Democrat in Congress led by big-ears Barry and his clown-circus of tax cheats and lobbyists.
>>> The "Koolaid" metaphor is sooooo old, soooooo overused, and sooooo lacking in imagination.
But oh so apropos.
>>> I don't drink chemically enhanced beverages full of imitation flavoring, imitation coloring, and God knows what other nasty additives, both literally and figuratively.
I love diet pepsi.
>>> I don't "do" Maddow or Olbermann either.
Based on their ratings, not many other people do either. ; )
>>> On the other hand, Crush's followers are certainly gulping down vast quantities of garbage dumped by the Big Bloviator himself.
Rush does have a keen eye on the lies and corruption permeating the Obamanation.
>>> He and his fellow ranters are scum of the earth and bear responsibility for the foul fruit of their poisonous word seeds.
Hopefully they'll reap what they've sown in 2010 when the corrupt idiot Dems are thrown out on their ears and again two years later when the "historic" Obama Presidency is relegated to the funny papers, and the country can once again brag that it's got the coolest community organizer in the world.
>>Most of his statements were blanket statements that have been said by a number of pundits on a regular basis.
And many others.
