I was under the impression that up until your recent revelation, a marriage full of rights came with their marriage. But we thank you for tossing in the civil union as well.

There is no "right" to tradition.
If there were, slavery would still be legal, and women would stull be denied the right to vote.

mmm hmmm.
because the term marriage would simply disappear?

Of coure, the simple solution is to work toward full equality, and stop claiming the "right" to the term "marriage"....then both gay couples and straight couples can be married.

Legally, though, since the rights (according to you) would be the same, no rights would be lost at all.

If homosexuals turn all "legal" unions into "civil unions" then heterosexuals would lose their right to marriage.

If homosexuals would turn? Ya mean if we collectively make this change?

Perhaps then everyone would agree to call it marriage and be done with it.

>>The "right" to their traditions and institution of marriage.<<

You feel people have a legal right to a perception?

So you do believe there is a fundament right to marriage.

And that civil unions, even with the same exact rights, are not a substitute.

How nice, you agree entirely with the GLBT marriage equality movement.

Yup.

And while tossing around words like "sanctity of marriage" to bar same sex couples from it,

>>> There is no "right" to tradition.

Apparently there's a civil right to marriage...for those who meet the criteria.
