>>> Actually, states are banning discrimination, and opening equal access to MARRIAGE.

And other states are going to constitutional extremes to defend marriage. I guess we'll have to wait to see which way the trend goes.

>>> Go Vermont!

Vermont was a close one...and as has been shown, a few of the deciding votes yielded to political pressure...not "progress."

Care to show me what law guarantees anyone the right to "tradition?"

And if tradiion is a right, why don't we still have bans on interracial marriage? Why was slavery abolished?

There is no need for gays to "accept" less than equal.

Marriage is the term used in this country.

If corruption of marriage is the concern...fight adultery/DV/Multiple divorce.

But fighting MARRIAGE so marriage won't be corrupted...is not logical.

The trend is already moving in the direction of equality.

It's hard to accept by those who support oppression.

When the USSC overturned the bans against interracial marriage, the majority of people were against it.

It's a rather simple concept.

If one puts forth a claim, one should be able to show the basis for that claim.

Otherwise, the claim is viewed as made up fearmongering.

And while fear mongering can be "dramatic", it's not well received in actual discourse/debate.

>>Well...um...again...it is a corruption of the definition and tradition of marriage. It imposes social sanction on a behavior held by many to be sinful and it opens the door for every other convolution of marriage that folks can dream up.<<

So the effect of gay marriage on your marriage is that social sanction has been imposed on behavior many find sinful.
