~And that is what is different.~

It's different, but it's not enough reason here

I'm curious - if reproduction without intervention is such an important reason to deny marriage to couples like my dw and I, then what's your objection to other sorts of marriage in the world (ie. not monogamous), which also produce children?

I disagree that the problem is "education" or "contraception." We've had sex-ed in our schools for decades and contraception is readily available in our schools, clinics and your nearest drug store.

I agree with the idea that parenting carries a lot of the blame, as well as the rampant liberalism that has permeated our society...but I also think that there is a big cultural component at work, especially in our black and hispanic communities.

Are American parents worse than here?

That would make sense if my country wasn't more liberal than yours - with a far lower abortion rate and lower teen pregnancy rate.

Setting aside conservatism and liberalism for the moment, the issue is one of a societal commitment to dissemination of information, health care, and preventative products.

And what does this have to do with marriage.

Nah, it isn't marriage that produces children, its sex between fertile heterosexuals.

And unless you restrict marriage to two people who can mix DNA and produce children without assistance, denying marriage to some people who can't but not others who can't on the basis that marriage is only for those who can remains a specious argument.
