Two quick points.
Not to mention the view is of western culture, as if that speaks for the cultural history of the world.
This and the Biblical justifications often used are not as clear cut as some like to suggest they are.
I always come back to religion and what the essential element is, after the pomp and circumstance is moved out of the way, and in that light, things look quite different.

I never left it...and a large part of the problem has PRECISELY to do with a permeating liberal ideology that glorifies single-motherhood, creates latch-key kids, subjects parents to criminal prosecution for disciplining their children, hobbles teachers/schools and encourages mediocrity, disrespect and disobedience in our children...just to name a few.
That's truly funny because I don't do any of the above nor do my liberal friends.
