As I recall, our Constitution is meant to protect the one from the tyranny of the majority... and in that spirit, care must be taken that legislative endeavours are not the vehicle by which the oppression takes place.

When one argues do it legislatively, that is in effect the challenge you place before me - that majority gets to determine my rights, and that is a huge, huge flaw in American democracy.

There's no difference, really... preventing dissemination of views is no different from preventing the view itself.

Some nations prevent revelation of court procedings until it is complete.

A one month closed window, with many months of it open, is not a restriction in the classic sense. It acts more as an equalising buffer, no different than prohibitions on how close campaign workers can actually get to

>>Very well... explain 'sex'. Is it meant to mean the sex of the person, or sex as in the act of?

Neither.

>>How does one have an unjust claim to say... life free of beatings? To be free of rape? To food, clothing, and shelter?

>>You do know I am prepared to accept that explanation, but why the vehemence in debating kate and I through all of this? Why not just say 'I'm on your side in this?" and leave it at that?

Didn't see the "vehemence".

Not at all. I am sure kate and I do not agree on everything in life or even with lgbt issues. Yet if I have a certain view of an issue, whilst I might point out oppositional view, I will not spend multiple posts arguing against those who hold the position I do. I will share what the opposition says, but I will not defend it.

She didn't defend the opposition to gay-marriage. And like I said before, you really need to distinguish between posters. Twisting words to mean something else than intended, and quoting out of context....
