I thought I'd address this part for a moment,

by offering that
a) the two young men doing that are straight
b) Frank Schubert, the Yes on 8 campaign manager, said that
"without offending the religious sect"
Any interesting and not unexpected change of tactic considering their demonizing of the Morman faith on the prop 8 thingie where the gay rights movement were later shown to be more like rabid dogs than anything...
~I do suppose that this is possibly a sign they don't think that much of marriage after all since they've shosen not to seek it and were simply after the legal privies that went with it afterall.~
The young men who are doing this are straight.
