~Yup!!! I believe everything that makes two people lovers is SEX.~
Being lovers clearly isn't the only difference between your marriage and friendship given your own claim that it "isn't possible" to have as "extremely strong" a relationship between a man and woman as between two women.
~the sexuality of a homosexual~
"Us" as in our relationship, not just our sexuality.
~how can we think of their relationships any differently than our own~
They already did, hence considered my marriage to be like their friendships rather than like their marriages.
~Excuse me for trying to compare your marriage to other normal, loving, and valid marriages~
To friendship:
"But to be perfectly honest with you... they only difference between you and your wife and me and my best friend is sex".

~Drop the kid off at 7AM...pick them up at 6PM...feed them and in bed by 8PM...who's raising the kids? Hmmm...~
>>> If one spouse works to support the family, while the other is home with the kids... is it only the one home with the kids who is raising them? Hmmm...
Not in my opinion...what do you think?
>>> What about widows who work hard to support their family? Are they not raising their children, either?
There's a difference between "providing" and "raising."
>>> Have you told any of these working parents this? When you do, can I watch?
Sure, the next time we have a "what's best for society" intervention, we'll post the date and time.
~Then liberals should send a card to their daycares, thanking them for doing such a good job raising their "healthy, happy children"...except for those who didn't turn out so "healthy" and "happy."~
>>> I'm kind of curious. Are you under the impression that only liberals use daycare, or that there is a significant difference in numbers between liberal and conservative families using them?
An interesting question. Do you have any data on this? I wonder if there would be a significant discrepancy, due to religious teaching and differing values, between conservatives and liberals.
I'm a bit banged up but nothing broken :)
The market was packed with tourists (March Break, and first spring Saturday), so it was more embarrassing than painful lol.

That would be interesting to explore.
>>> I doubt it is productive for the lgbt community to go toe to toe with the small pockets of vocal prejudice that remain.
Small pockets can sway the vote. Maybe it's worth trying to convince them.
>>> Most people are flexible, and will come around the more they learn, and as time moves along, given younger folk are far more amenable to gays with rights.
Sure...because young people don't care about social institutions. But as they get older, social morality and values become more important to them when they're raising their own families, and so their attitudes often change.
>>> America has a history of prejudice, a history that is replete with violence, torture, genocide, and forced migration or detention, and I hope we realise that we can do so much better by working together and encouraging each other, rather than via contention.
Our society was born out of contention, and our government was designed to be contentious.
