Appearing for the supporters of Prop 8, Kenneth Starr, the former Whitewater prosecutor, said the people hold the right to modify the state constitution by adding or subtracting protections for civil rights.
Court appears ready to uphold Prop. 8

>>All the rights are the same...beyond that it's just a word like monogamy...or polygamy. Do you think polygamists get angry and demand that their relationships be called monogamist? Why can't "civil union" describe a same sex union while "marriage" describes a heterosexual one?<<
Because separate but equal isn't.
Not to mention it makes me crazy that some actually believe we should breastfeed in places like restrooms to begin with, all because someone might be offended a mom breastfeeds her child out and about in the world.
Every time this subject comes up on the feminism board, expect it to be like the marriage equality threads on this board. ;-)

Exactly. Lets start a movement for dads to feed infants who either don't breastfeed or who have pumped milk available.
Chairs for the men's room! (Not that restrooms are where our kids should eat, but hey... this equality thing has to wind through all of society.)
I like how the Northwest terminal in Detroit is configured... women's, men's, and family restrooms.

>>> Seperate is not equal
<<That's the way it is in life. An 18 year old can join the military, but can't drive a car or legally get a drink in my state. In my company, a woman having a child gets two months leave...a man gets two weeks. Women frequently have chairs or sofas in their restrooms. Men? Nope. Life is unfair.>>
What does joining the military or driving a car have to do with "separate is not equal"? As for maternity leave,

I'm still trying to make the connection between restrooms and...equality under the law.....
"Actually, I advocate a world where America dominates and is also a part...kind of like reality. Unlike the left, I don't have "successful guilt" and feel a need to subordinate ourselves to the wishes and whims of lesser societies and cultures. Our dominance protects us, and also serves as a beacon of hope to the rest of the world. We are the shining example...and all any other country has to do to achieve our success is to emulate the best of us."
Your dominance endangers you..and this arrogance astonishes me.
