I know I should remember this, but after 4 years...... How are you cleaning baby's belly button? I remember using alcohol, but can't think if I used Q-tips or cotton balls? My c-section is tomorrow morning, and I'm just in super crazy last minute prep mode!

Some hospitals/pediatricians are now recommending the "leave it alone" method. I guess

What we did last time was take a small tube-ware container and fill it with cotton balls and rubbing alcohol and used a cotton ball to clean. It was super easy because they were already ready. We just had to open the container and get one.

We were told to wash with a q-tip and plain water. They said they're getting away from cleaning with alcohol. I actually just left Rachel's alone. It didn't fall off until about day 12 though, which was much longer than it took my other 2.

With my 5yr old DD and this one born on Feb 3rd we where told to leave it alone and never had a problem. I can remember how long it took for my older one but this one last hers two days ago and it looks great.

Do nothing. Using rubbing alcohol is the old school way of doing it and it is not recommended anymore. I think they stopped routinely recommending using rubbing alcohol about 4 years ago or so. I know over 3 years ago when I had my last baby
