Unemployment is intended to be a temporary protection, not welfare. It's also been demonstrated by reputable economists that extending unemployment benefits usually keeps unemployment numbers higher and does further damage to the economy. The Congress just passed "PayGo" last month...and now the hypocritical Dems want to ignore it at the first opportunity. So much for their integrity and fiscal responsibility. If they want to extend the benefits, then all they have to do it just come up with the money to do it. Pretty simple...right?

I think we as taxpayers need to be careful that unemployment isn't a permanent state.
