How about:
Is necessary to apportion representation in the House of Representatives, the purpose for which it was created.

Well this census was less invasive than the one from 1880. They asked back then if you were blind, deaf or dumb, idiotic, insane, mamed, crippled, bedridden, or otherwise disabled.

Yes, you got the short form. This year, I did, too. The last census, I got the long form and it asked all sorts of questions.

"The 2010 census will use only the short form. The long form has been replaced by the Census Bureau’s ongoing American Community Survey. Dr. Elizabeth Grieco, chief of the Census Bureau’s Immigration Statistics Staff, told us in a recent interview that the 2010 census short form does not ask about citizenship because “Congress has not asked us to do that.” "

Looks like there is only a short form this time.

LOL, how did the census become communistic and un-American?

I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.

I don't know. Ask Michele Bachmann.

It'll be interesting to see the results of the 2010 census. I know a couple of families whose 20-somethings moved back home after being laid off. And with all the foreclosures, both renters in those foreclosed properties and the owners may have had to move in with relatives.

The "Your Answers are Confidential" blurb that accompanies the form notes that the answers cannot be obtained by law enforcement or the IRS, but does NOT specifically mention INS. I wonder if aliens, even the legal ones, will trash it without understanding its purpose. Maybe seeing "INS" would scare them even more, even if it was stated that INS/USCIS would not have access to the info.

I suppose even if one of the questions for adults read, "Are you a U.S. citizen?", the responses would not be accurate, with some claiming they are citizens when they are not, and some illegals freaking out and trashing it when they see the word "citizen". A question regarding citizenship, though, would be a better way to determine the numbers of reps per state.

I understand the humor of your survey, and so I voted.
