In a continuing effort to post liberal blogs to compete with the far-right blogs so favored at this "site", here's a good one.

Tea Party's Contract With Themselves

The wait is finally over. That grassroots movement known as the tea party ... and you can't get much more grassrootsier than Grover Norquist, Newt Gingrich, and Steve Forbes ... has unveiled their "10 bedrock principles" in a document they call, "Contract from America."

And with a tip of the hat to Newt for coming up with such an original title, here are a couple of my favorite "principles."

1.) Protect the Constitution

Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does.

No word on how specific they want it to be. Do they mean provisions in the Constitution for funding missile defense or abstinence education, or can we stick with Article I, Section 8 and still love America?

4.) Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words - the length of the original Constitution.

I checked and that is not in the Constitution. So much for bedrock principle number one.

Read them all and pick your favorite ... or maybe we can all agree that the best part of the teabagger manifesto is its signature:

contract

Of course that's assuming that you define "The American People" as this group of yahoos voting in an online poll.

Sounds like proof that the New York Times/CBS News poll was right...the Tea Party folks are better educated than their liberal opponents.

What did you think the tea party cult was going to say when polled?

>>> What did you think the tea party cult was going to say when polled? That they didn't graduate from high school?

Ignorance of the facts and issues seemed to be the standard answer when Obama supporters were questioned during the election. After all the lies, flip-flops and double-talk there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe that the libs have become more educated in the interim.

>>> They sure flunked English grammar however many grades they completed in school. Show me some diplomas. Show me some spreadsheets on their finances. They're dumb, but surely not dumb enough to "admit" how dumb they are.

I'd post the comments and posters from the left over the last decade but it would probably crash IV's server. It's amazing how many stupid libs had trouble spelling "Bush." LOL!

>>> They are too stupid to know that their taxes HAVE NOT gone up.

Libs are too stupid to understand, because simple math skills escape them, is that what's upsetting conservatives is not that taxes HAVE gone up...but rather with the HUGE...GINORMOUS...spending of the Obidiot administration that we will bankrupt the country and that taxes WILL GO UP SHARPLY!!!

>>> They are too stupid to realize that Bush grew "big" government more than any other president in 40 years and squandered our country's SURPLUS :)

...except BARRY!!! of course...who TRIPLED in ONE year what Bush spent in eight. ; ) Stupid Barry...and even stupider libs who try to apologize for his stupidity.

>>> And they are too stupid not to know to answer differently when asked about President Obama's citizenship. Those are the kinds of things that make them look as stupid as they do.

Is that Barry's African citizenship that his relatives speak about? Or his Muslim heritage that seems to be in the fore as he snuggles close to our enemies and attacks our allies, like Israel?

>>> And those are some of the reasons that so many "big name" republicans are distancing themselves from them. Cause they don't want to be linked with such "misinformed" fringe-type people.

"Big name" like...er...um...oh, right...there are no "big names." Instead, what we see are the idiot Dems now trying to pander to the Tea Party crowd. You could almost see Pelosi's lipstick prints on the Tea Party's a$s.

>>> The only thing they are correct about is the size of the deficit and the ramifications of that.

Which Barry seems hellbent on increasing...and increasing....with his socialist agenda....to the applause of a dwindling cadre of bobble-heads.

>>> But since EVERYBODY else agrees with that, it would be hard for them to mess up on that one.

Odd then that so many libs do. LOL!
