This is a very dangerous step to take. I am for a free and internet. The spector of the FTC or any other governmental body bodes ill for freedom. Yes there are privacy concerns FaceBook being one of the prime offenders.
Other countries in Western Europe have very strict privacy laws we in the US do not.
