Another Republican Pol Fails Purity Test

Incumbent Utah Senator Bennett failed the Republican purity test by striking to cooperative a tone with Democrats. David Brooks on MTP today admitted this is a terrible mistake for Republicans.

Goodbye Senator Bennett and all your years of service, the party told him. The clear message to all Republican pols, anyone cooperates with the Dems and they are out out out.

Good luck Senators Hatch, Graham, Snowe and Collins next time your turns are up. The Republican Senators better slink down to Jim DeMint level if they want to survive.

This really isn't going to help Republicans. Ronald Reagan knew that to be successful the party had to appeal to moderates. Ronald Reagan was a man who knew something about politics. Rudderless Republicans today are letting the most conservative currents carry them far far right. This is not going to help them, needless to say the rest of us

I have written off the Republican Party. They are going to be extinct soon if they keep this up.

We can thank SP, Rush, Beck & FOX for shifting the whole Republican Party to the right. I think they assume that independents have no brains, and that as long as they keep shouting "no more taxes" they'll get the independent vote in November. But if they keep flaunting SP and supporting some of those whacko tea partiers, it aint gonna happen.

You seem to be under the false impression there are still moderates within the democratic party. But most all of them have left over the last 30 years. Even they can't stand what the democratic party has become.
