I have figured out why CA is doing this.

They don't want all the illegals coming to CA from AZ because of the new law. Illegals already have said that they are going to leave the state of AZ...they will most likely go to sanctuary cities like LA or San Fran.

California is broke and can't afford more illegals sucking the life blood out of the enormous entitlement programs there.

Therefore, they are boycotting AZ....pretending to be all moral....but in reality, they don't want any more illegals coming to their state. They hope that by boycotting AZ, AZ will get scared and repeal the law and the illegals will stay in AZ.

Ha ha ha! California is so stupid.

Such incredible pandering morons. I sooooooooooooooooooooo hope this bites LA right in the a-- and that each one of those dopey councilpeople are immediately recalled. I also hope Arizona quickly returns all of the California prisoners they're holding in AZ prisons...that's sure to win the hearts of the people of California.

Well, if California had ANY morals at all, they should ASK to have their prisoners back. I am sure that AZ isn't holding them for free and one could conclude that that is technically "doing business with AZ", right?

I am sure CA will be asking for the return of those prisoners any day now as well as providing buses for any and all illegal immigrants who wish to leave AZ and come to CA where they will never be questioned about their legal status, regardless of the crimes they commit.. ;-)

California....what a bunch of hypocrites!

LA Times, March 13, 2010 Poll: Was the L.A. City Council right to pass a boycott of Arizona?

• Yes. Arizona needs to feel the consequences of enacting a bad law. 2% (294 votes)

• Yes, though the boycott should be more of a symbolic gesture than an official measure. <1% (51 votes)

• No, but only because doing so is probably illegal and not in L.A.'s interest. 4% (539 votes)

• No. The city should mind its own business. 94% (13,257 votes)

""Obama supports a system allowing undocumented immigrants in good standing to pay a fine, learn English and become citizens. ""

What is the fine? And will that then become the standard $$-amount one needs to become a citizen of the US?

Can or should it be that simple? Why then should I bother with:

How can an illegal alien be in "good standing?" By definition they're criminals guilty of violating Federal law.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if the only law being broken is being in the US illegally, then you can be considered in good standing. Other than that, if you are an otherwise law abiding citizen who is just trying to raise a family and enjoy the American dream...Then I think you are in good standing.
