>>> Hello New to the message boards.

Welcome.

>>> `A few statements, questions. Clearly the bill is to protect America and Americans. Crime, drugs, burden on social services and lack of contributing to the government funds via taxes. There is also the Mexican side of crime and violence. Human smuggling is a vile business that flourishes today. Maybe the bill solves nothing. BUT without taking any sides - isnt this law just a restatement of an already existing federal law. Nearly identical, just asking for enforcement at the state level. And if so why boycott the state any more than you should boycott the country.

Right on all points. Quite simply, the left is purposefully lying about the law in order to drum up fear among "brown people," in the hopes they'll get their vote come election time.

>>> I'm almost afraid to ask this but...

Don't be afraid, it will only hurt a bit...

>>> What would you have the president do with 12 million of so undocumented workers who are already in the country? maybe round them up, put them in cattle cars and ship them to camps in the plains states?

Why on earth would you ship illegal aliens somewhere IN the US? LOL! It's amazing to me that so many on the left have so much trouble grasping the concept of "enforcing our laws." Would you ask "what would you have the president do with terrorists who are already in the country? Or murderers who are already in the country? It's completely absurd that libs support the President hunting you down and forcing you to pay for the health insurance for other people, but somehow enforcing our own immigration laws is beyond the pale.

>>> I'm all for closing the border by any means possible. But the reality is, their are several million undocumented, mostly Latin American people in this country NOW. So, unless you're for rounding them up, putting them in "neighborhoods" under guard until they can be put on cattle cars and shipped to "prison camps" to pay for their crimes...Mocking any and all possible solutions does nothing to help or solve the problem. So...What would you do with all of the undocumented in this country?

It's quite obvious that the "solution" the left has in mind is amnesty...again. And they're all for closing the border as long as it doesn't involve actually closing the border. My solution? It's a simple three-pronged plan...1) build a fence and man it effectively...2) harsh penalties for employers who hire illegals...3) like AZ, make it manditory to provide ID and detain and deport ANY illegals within 72 hours of capture.

Oh...ok...so Barry thinks you're in "good standing" if you've only broken certain Federal laws, scammed the system and been a tax cheat?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if the only law being broken is being in the US illegally, then you can be considered in good standing. Other than that, if you are an otherwise law abiding citizen who is just trying to raise a family and enjoy the American dream...Then I think you are in good standing.

How can an illegal alien be in "good standing?" By definition they're criminals guilty of violating Federal law.

""Obama supports a system allowing undocumented immigrants in good standing to pay a fine, learn English and become citizens. ""

What is the fine? And will that then become the standard $$-amount one needs to become a citizen of the US?

Can or should it be that simple? Why then should I bother with:

LA Times, March 13, 2010 Poll: Was the L.A. City Council right to pass a boycott of Arizona?

• Yes. Arizona needs to feel the consequences of enacting a bad law. 2% (294 votes)

• Yes, though the boycott should be more of a symbolic gesture than an official measure. <1% (51 votes)

• No, but only because doing so is probably illegal and not in L.A.'s interest. 4% (539 votes)

• No. The city should mind its own business. 94% (13,257 votes)
