Democrats stop bid to send 6,000 troops to border

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's Democratic allies in the Senate have repelled a move by presidential rival John McCain to send an additional 6,000 National Guard troops to the U.S-Mexico border.

The Arizona Republican says the security situation along the order has deteriorated so badly that 3,000 guard troops are needed just to help protect his state. But McCain failed to muster the required 60 votes for his plan as the Senate continued debate on an a war funding bill.

Obama on Tuesday promised to send 1,200 Guard troops to the border to support efforts to block drug trafficking and temporarily supplement Border Patrol agents until more agents can be trained.

Former President George W. Bush sent thousands of Guard troops to the border in 2006.

Yes, the Bamster's latest claim is that he supports a federal solution to this problem. Of course we all know this is a classic liberal manuver. His plan is to claim he is fixing illegal immigration in an attempt to derail it.

The funniest this about this whole mess is the utter lack of liberal intergrity. We all know Obama's not doing anything but blowing smoke. Even if the Fed did come up with real immigration reform, Az style laws could still be written by each of the states. Watch. Many states will claim they do not need immigration laws because Barry's going to take care of it. The states that know better will continue to pass the laws. In the end, if Barry gets his way the only states looking stupid were the ones that waited to pass their own laws.

Nothing, but then again the further back in time you go the less of a problem it was.

There was that whole amnesty thingie, but I opposed that too.

(What did Nixon do? Ford? Carter? Reagan? Bush? Clinton? Bush?)

Nothing. But Obama is in charge now. If he choses to do nothing, so be it. But, he certainly should not criticize AZ for taking matters into their own hands because of the feds massive failures.

AZ is having it's own citizens murdered in cold blood by illegals. Border Patrol agents are being shot with AK-47's from the drug cartels.

Meanwhile, Obama and the dems are too busy kissing up to Calderon and cheering him on while he bashes AZ's law....

I have no idea where you're going with that thought.

Or better yet, issue AK47s to the civilian population.
