Obama's Speech
Tue, 06-15-2010 - 11:30pm

Well, I thought he was an incompetent leftist before his dopey speech tonight. But, this has got to be a new low for an American president.

"an oil spill that is assaulting our shores and our citizens."

"We consume more than 20% of the world's oil, but have less than 2% of the world's oil reserves"

"Countries like China are investing in clean energy jobs..."

"we see an entire way of life being threatened by a menacing cloud of black crude"

"there are costs associated with this transition"

So, to sum it up... Oil is bad.

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."

I just hope more and more "Bartons" and "Bachmanns" continue with their apologies and/or championship of BP.

>>> Let ALL republicans running for office take up for BP. It will turn out so well for progressives. :)

At the end of the day, with BP accepting responsibility and ponying up billions to pay for clean up and the compensation, and with public animus turning sharply against Obama for his incompetence and the corruption of his administration's oversight of the oil companies, the spill issue will be an effective one for Republicans come November and again in 2012...especially with Obama's moratorium stretching past the November elections and the bite of those lost tens of thousands of jobs reaching fever pitch just as folks head to the ballot box. Yes, indeed...elections have consequences.
