Majorityof Americans lack faith in Obama

Nearly 60 percent of American voters say they lack faith in President Barack Obama, according to a public opinion poll published on Tuesday.

a new ABC News/Washington Post poll would rather have the Republicans run Congress "to act as a check on Obama's policies," vs. 43 percent who want the Democrats in charge to help support those policies. That's accompanied by a 7-point, one-month drop in approval of Obama's handling of the economy, to a career low.

As President Barack Obama's job approval rating continues to track below 50%, Gallup finds his weekly average approval rating among independents down to 38%, the lowest to date. At the same time, 81% of Democrats and 12% of Republicans approve of the job he is doing.
