Topical Lidocaine?

Does anyone know if products containing topical lidocaine (sp?) are safe for use during pregnancy? Without realizing it, I used two products containing small amounts of lidocaine. I had a very bad sunburn (think lobster red face) and I used this aloe gel and when I read on it, it had 0.1 or 0.01% lidocaine. Then, I had some really irritating bug bites, so I put some bug bite stuff on it, and when I read on it, it also had lidocaine. Anyone know if this is okay? These aren't medications that I really ever use, but I was miserable with the bites and the sunburn. The applications were contained to my face for the sunburn and to a few spot on my feet for the bug bites.

Thanks!

Staci

To me it doesn't sound harmful... I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it.

Thanks for your response. I looked on the safefetus website, and it said that no adverse affects are known or have been shown in laboratory studies on pregnant animals. I figure since both were used in such small amounts, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
