My size 22's have been pretty baggy this week, but I was afraid to go to the store in case I just wasn't at the next size yet. Yesterday I was craving pizza sooooo bad. Especially since I picked one up for my kids and the whole car and house smelled like it. So I wrapped up the leftovers and went up to the store with my dh to try on some jeans. I couldn't believe it, they fit perfect. Yeahhh! I have never dropped a size in my life. I have only gone up in sizes or maintained a size. That was motivation enought to keep that pizza in the fridge and then some. I'm walking on air today. I have lost four pounds already this week so I'm upping my food intake a little because I think that is a little to quick for my body.

I'm new to boards so I have to ask, what does NSV mean? Please excuse my dorkiness until I get the swing of things. :)

Woo Hoo!!! Congrats, Mandy! I'm wondering how long did it take you to go down a size? And how did you do it, (diet plan, exercise)?

thanks,

It took me about six weks to go down a size, but my girlfriend who went from a size 16 to a 6 said that every size down takes a little less time than before. I'm hoping she's right, but I'm not going to get dissapointed if it doesn't happen that way. I've been eating about six times a day. I eat breakfast and eat low cal low fat snacks until dinner. So I'm eating about every 2-3 hours. I even eat something about an hour before I go to bed. I haven't joined weight watchers, but I have the point books and keep myself in the range I'm supposed to be eating for my weight.

Most important and most difficult, I am excercising 5 days a week. My daughter and I walk for about 25 minutes with 5 spurts (about 30 seconds to a minute) of jogging. We do this about 2-3 times a week and I feel like I'm going to die when I'm running, but it gets easier every time I do it. I've always been jealous of runners so hopefully one day I can be one of them. :) The other days I do a pretty intense weight lifting workout with my dh for about an hour. I alternate between upper and lower body with ab work every time.

I've never been an excerciser so that has been difficult, but the more time goes by I'm liking it more and more. Especially the weight lifting because it's amazing to see how fast your body transforms from it. The difference in my arms already is phenomenol. And it's just much easier because it's hard to get my body going for cardio being this big.

One day at a time, one pound at a time. One pound always seems so small when you are looking at a lot of weight to lose, but I have a pound of butter in the fridge and that pound is a LOT.
