The great thing about being taller than average, is that most women appear thinner than there actual weight. I have a few weight to height ratios on real life people to help you make a decision. My one girlfriend is 5'9 weighs 150 and wears a size 6 dress/7 jeans. She is large framed. Another girlfriend is 5'6 weighs 165 and is a size 10 jeans. (average frame)she doesnt look fat at all! she works out and everything is toned, except those darn underarm areas. She is a bit larger in her hips compared to torso. My 1/2 sister is 5'9 or 5'10(cant recall) she weighs 145ish and looks way too thin(she is small boned) think gwyneth paltrow body type. My cousin is just under 6 ft. small framed, weighs 135, size 5, and flat as a 12 yr old boy. If you check back on my web site, the last picture shows me with my sister in red, she is 5'7 weighs 150, medium to large frame(wide, large hips) she is a size 8/9. god, my sister will kill me for telling people her weight. Now all these girls except my 1/2 sister, do weight training or are big time runners. my sister in the picture runs 5 miles several times a week. So they would have more muscle as opposed to just body fat. I based my goal weight(160) because I am a similiar body frame and height to my sister(in picture) . If you have other relatives your own height who have bodies you think are healthy and proportioned, find out their weight and aim for that. When I told friends and relatives i admired their figures they were happy to disclose their weights. Now, you mentioned you are going to quit smoking, which may cause you to gain weight, you may want to make goal weight a bit lower to compensate for any weight gain that may occur during smoking cessation. just a thought. jenz

Shawna,

I did look at your picture not long ago and I thought you were looking great! I know it is hard to really tell what people look like from pictures, but it looks like an amazing transformation to me! I think if you are happy with your body then stick with what works for you! Like you said, you can always lose more later on if you decide to. For me, I have a goal of 150 but it isn't set in stone. Once I get close to it then I'll decide what really will be best for me.

Congrats on the wedding dress, I'm sure that is a wonderful feeling! I keep wondering if I would fit into mine again. I think I'm probably near the weight I was when I got married (I don't remember where I was exactly), but after having 2 babies I know I'm not exactly the same shape I was back then! I want to try mine on, but I am waiting because I know how awesome it will feel to put it on and have it be too big!
