Whether they're diet related or not.......what are your resolutions for the coming year?

1. Orbital motion about a point, especially as distinguished from axial rotation: the planetary revolution about the sun.
2. A turning or rotational motion about an axis.
3. A single complete cycle of such orbital or axial motion.
3. The overthrow of one government and its replacement with another.
4. A sudden or momentous change in a situation
5. Geology. A time of major crustal deformation, when folds and faults are formed.
Pay close attention to 3 and 4. To me, my serious self esteem issues and the (*&&%$ voices in my head that are constantly telling me how *insert bad thing here* I am have been the governing body of my life for too long. My despair and disheartened hopelessness have been dictating for too long. I WILL overthrow all that negativity in myself and treat myself as kindly and gently as I do others. I will be ruthless with my past instead of with my heart.
Not dwelling on and being controlled by all that crud is a HUGE and momentous change for me.
So this year my New Year's Revolution is to deal gently with myself, to lose weight because I AM worth it and I deserve to be healthy and happy.
I have three set up for next year:
1.
I WILL GET OUT OF DEBT WITH FAMILY MEMBERS and reduce overall debt as much as possible.
and I will do both before another "revolution" of the calender. :-)
Blessings,
S_C
I will remember that the Golden Rule is NOT "Do unto others as they've done to you".
I will reach my goal weight, and stay there for a while!
I will revisit artistic outlets (drawing and knitting), and maybe try something new.
I will go back to school- at least one course a term.
I will appreciate the good things in my life while they're here- including the suppport of this board.
Happy New Year, everyone!

Now that we have the goals, how do we intend to reach them?
hummmm???? :-)
For my diet resolution, I intend to eat a lot of healthy choice and lean cuisine frozen dinners b/c I am only feeding one person here unless my next-ex is visiting. When I cook I am using more spices than butter to season dishes, and I began this week serving myself and him on salad plates instead of dinner plates.
My biggest problem is binging at night. I have put other things near my sofa nest. Gone are the popcorn dish (AFTER the football playoffs) and next-ex's chocolate bars. Gone are dinners served in front of the television. In are the free weights. I am also going to move two chairs out of my living room and put in my exerciser contraption from hell. I don't remember what it's called -- it's hydrolic but not a bike. Exerciser contraption from hell is fitting enough. In the latter part of 2003, I have moved toward adopting a "you can't sit and watch tv; you must move" attitude. I WILL have to totally adopt this frame of mind in 2004 -- walking in place, crunchies, yoga, free weights, whatever while watching tv.
For debt, I can't fully answer the question until the end of the week when I hear from an out-of-state interview. If I am remaining in Louisiana, I will probably be working one full time job and two parttime ones. I intend to dedicate all of my parttime pay to repaying family members. My other debt can come out of my fulltime job pay. Also, if I remain in Louisiana, my next-ex and I are talking of selling my home and moving in together to rent or purchase a home. If we do that, though, I guess I will have to quit calling him my next-ex. ;-)
Blessings,

I really hate making resolutions because I always set myself up for failure . However I will go with the flow and say what I want out of the year
1.Stop being such an a$$ to my SO
2.Get up off my a$$ and move it
3.Lose that same a$$(I'm totally for the whole J-Lo ghetto booty thing but c'mon..mine is like deep in the ghetto kinda booty lol)
(2) To get a job for the summer.
(3) I figure that if I get a job during the summer, I'll have free time in the evenings and over the weekends, which would be an ideal time to brush up on my Spanish and work on fluency. I took Spanish in high school and regret giving it up in college.
Hope y'all are enjoying your New Year. We're COVERED with snow here in Oregon, but I managed to take the dog out for a 45 minute walk this evening. The streets are quiet and deserted, and we had fun.
This year my new years resolutions are:
1) to become a more healthy person, by choosing healty food choices, and healthy lifestyle choices, including exercising.
2) to take some courses at the university, to work toward becoming a teacher
3) To feel better about myself.
