Thanks everyone for prayers and positive energy while I've been searching for a job. Your efforts have paid off :-)

Wichita Falls editing job called today and offered me the position. I had written off the job b/c the guy didn't call by 5 p.m. He called at 6:03 p.m. When I hesitated b/c of my shock, he upped the offered salary by $2000/year. :-)

I have to pass a drug test -- never taken one. Anyone know if it picks up Xanax, Effexor, Lithium or if it only picks up street drugs?

Assuming I pass the drug test, I'm taking the job and will be relocating from Louisiana to Texas ASAP.

Blessings and thanks so much again and again from the bottom of my heart (and my overdrawn checking account :-)

Why would a person relocate to another State for a job that pays just $9.61 an hour? A job that pays $20,000 year is $384. week, before taxes, or $9.61 an hour (40 hrs), and even a teenager earns that much bagging at the local grocery store. That's not an adult wage, and certainly nothing to cross State lines about. Couldn't you get a job at the local McDonalds? McDonalds STARTS at $8.50 and you don't even pack a bag to get it! Any grocery store, any chain store, any kids job pays in that range. It's not a real job, and who would go to Texas for that?

I Knew you could do it! I am soooo happy for you! I hope this turns out to be the job of your dreams.

About the meds. You do have scripts for them don't you? If not, they should be out of your system in a week or two.

Hugs,

Deb

I don't think it picks up Effexor, or if it does they do not care. Dh had a drug test once, and it never picked it up.

To snowballs: I never said what the salary was. I believe you misread my post. I said the offer was increased $2,000/year from the original offer on the table at the interview. Pretty good I thought since I didn't have to do any haggling for it -- I just had to be dumbfounded :-)

To mom2be: I asked the editor and publisher if it was a job requirement that I root for Texas during the OU v. Tx game. They looked at each other, looked back at me and said, "Why should you? We don't." LOLOLOL Where are you again? Dallas, Ft. Worth?

To everyone else: Thanks for the congratz and yes I do have perscriptions for the meds I take.

Blessings all,

S_C
