Well I am down 14lbs yay me although almost everyone around me says "but you still have a hundred to go dont get too excited about it". Anyways I posted a question on chat before I ended up having to leave and I was hoping someone had some suggestions for frozen microwave entress that are good for you and not very expensive?

Well, I don't eat microwave dinners, so I can't help you there, but I think it sucks that someone would pop your balloon with something like "but you still have a hundred to go dont get too excited about it"!!! Hopefully they can gain 14 pts on their EQ's (emotional quotients) and not be (insert appropriate word here....I can't think of one because it's not yet 7 am and my brain doesn't come on til then)

Working 2 jobs, being a nana, AND just life, I make some microwave dinners!! I LOVE the healthy choice turkey one with the pumpkin pudding. I also like a few of the WW ones....especially the turkey and rice (see a pattern here?). try a few out, you'll know quickly which ones you like! and HEY 14lbs is 14lbs!!! it's a 10lb AND a 5lb bag of dog food......so pppffttt to the person that feels it's ONLY 14lbs!

Hey girl! that is terrible! Why would they say "don't get too excited.."?? Those people don't support you to much do they? I get excited over every pound, and so does my doctor.

Well, my favorite is the Lean Cuisine pizzas. They are sooo good and so cute!!

I like the Lean Cuisines, and I do OK on points with two of the entres because I'm still a big girl. In my opinion, they are a lot more savory than the Weight Watchers. I think that's the word I'm looking for. Some of the WW stuff just tasted like veggies with lots of spices added. It depends on what flavor combinations satisfy you better. But my store has a lot more LC than WW to choose from. The LC "dinners" are very filling--they include a meat, some starch and plenty of veggies.

Hey Roxy,

That's my angel-niece's name, so I'm predisposed to be on your side in this...

"Almost everyone" can take a flying leap, and I mean that in a caring, sharing, sort of way! 14 pounds is a fantastic start. 14 pounds is more than 11.5% to your goal ALREADY! (So, like a mini-goal reached...) 14 pounds is not inconsiderable- just try carrying it around for a few hours! You probably already feel physically and mentally better. So don't let anyone try to convince you that the obstacle in front of you is too great. You've already proven to yourself that you can do it!

I've found that it saves my sanity ( a very scarce commodity!) to share numbers only with people who are in nearly the same boat, as far as amount of weight to lose. I'll talk points with the WW ladies (or gents) who need to lose 20 pounds, but not results. It's not that they're trying to be sadistic, they just truly can't fathom weigh-loss on a grand scale (pun not intended).

Most microwave entrees seem to have too much sodium, or are too pricey, for me to use more than occasionally. Healthy Choice is probably the best of the lot (tasty, too), and there are some nice sales in my area right now (maybe yours, too). The Glad or Ziploc disposable plates-with-covers also work in the freezer/microwave, if you can find some time to make up a bunch of meals at once. Baggies of healthy munchies are more my style... just call me Queen of Grab & Go!

"YAY YOU!" indeed! That's fabulous! And I'll just ditto the advice about what to tell the "everyone around you" naysayers! LOL (Mickie said it best, I do believe.)

I don't eat the healthy frozen dinners (all my frozen dinner days were pre-healthy), so I can't help you there. But you've got some great opinions!

Hang in there, and YAY YOU! again!!

I LOVE the Amy's frozen dinners but they are about $4 apiece. Splurge. You're worth it!

Roxy-

How dare they say that??? I am down 4 pounds and darn excited, so I'll gladly celebrate with you!! :)

As for microwave dinners- I usually keep a few on hand for long days when I don't feel like cooking. I like Michelina's (they're the CHEAPEST!!). They have these "bowl" thinks that are just veggies and sauce of some sort and are very good. They also have a line of light entrees that are pretty good too, and usually about 99cents. Other than that, there are some Lean Cuisine and WW meals that I'll buy occasionally, but I do like the cheap ones!!

Best of luck to you!

-Tina
